By Marika Day. These soft, no-cook banana balls are a nourishing snack for baby-led weaning, packed with healthy fats, fibre, and natural sweetness from ripe banana. Suitable from around 6 months, they’re easy for little hands to hold. Always supervise during meals and ensure almonds have been safely introduced before offering this recipe.

Ingredients for Banana Bliss Balls

½ cup quick oats

1 tbsp natural greek yoghurt

2 tbsp ground flaxseed (flax meal)

2 tbsp almond meal

½ tsp cinnamon

1 small banana, mashed

½ cup desiccated coconut, for rolling 

Method for Banana Bliss Balls

    1. In a medium bowl, combine the oats, yoghurt, flax meal, almond meal, and cinnamon.
    2. Add the mashed banana and mix until a soft dough forms.
    3. Roll small portions of the mixture into bite-sized balls.
    4. Roll each ball in desiccated coconut to coat.
    5. Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
